This is my first ever PC build and I plan on using it for school work light 3D modeling and occasional gaming (Fortnite and Kerbal Space Program). I have a 650$ish budget on the PC without windows or peripherals. My budget a little bit flexible but I don't want to break 700$. I don't care if I have to play games on low settings I just want a PC that will last and be easily up-gradable for future hobbies. If there are any issues with compatibility or bottle necking PLEASE TELL ME. If you have any suggestions on different parts please tell me. And if you say this build will suck and I am an idiot it will not offend me. This is like my 3rd iteration so if it looks like I am spamming the same post today I am not. Also PLEASE SUGGEST better cheap cases with side windows.

here are the parts I am looking at.

Not sure what styling you are looking for. Suggest going through the link below, and checking manufacturer's site for the candidates you like most to see what features they give you. Personally I'd prioritize toolless drive bays that are adjustable and case fan quantity as important metrics along with mesh for airflow and removable air filters in addition to a side panel.

@Nstud when you use @ here and start typing a name a popup menu shows people who's forum names start with those characters.

Great build actually. And you seem to be comfortable with Mail-In rebates. For that matter, how about we tweak some things a bit?

@forregacc02 thank you for that I will be implementing that into my build.

do you have any suggestions on how to get a cheaper graphics card to bring it down closer to 600$. I don't mind playing games on lower settings

the M12 is worse than the CX550M, it's old as dirt and missing several protections.

Not really. The graphics card choice in your build is particularly great value. If I were to build a PC now, I would choose the same graphics card.

Okay... I'm not saying you're wrong, but could you enlighten me on this? I believe the EVO is like the refresh of the original M12 which has added features for modern hardware. Could you send some links showing that the M12 Evo is as you stated.

IIRC they didn't add the protections in.

Well.. I did my research. The EVO edition, the 520w and 620w are basically the same as the old ones except that they are updated for Haswell. JonnyGuru personally said:

However, it's still a group-regulated PSU with no DC-DC unless you get the 750w and 850w.

I would have to agree with you here then. Your original choice of PSU is better.
