So when I was pulling the graphics card out to clean my old system, I didn't realize this at the time until after, but 2 small capacitors had apparently fell off the motherboard, I found where they're supposed to be, and the contacts aren't damaged at all... They literally just fell off. Would a soldering iron and some flux make this an easy fix or is it a lost cause? I haven't tried turning the system on without said capacitors on for fear of starting a fire or destroying the motherboard more than it already is.  This motherboard is about 9 years old, but being an LGA 1366 board is still decent by today's standards and I'd hope I could get it to work again.

So you still have the old capcitors? From what I know, just buying a soldering iron and solder is good enough to solder it back together. I don't know if capactiors have a certain direction to them but I doubt it. If you do try to apply it just keep the solder off any traces on the motherboard as that will obviously cause a short circut.

You could invest in a new motherboard if it is cheaper than buying a soldering iron.

Your best bet is to just try and solder it back on, however, if you feel skittish about that conductive adhesive might be easier to use (and less damaging if you mess up). Personally, though you may just want to buy a new board.
