Liquid Cooler

So how does a liquid cooler like a NZXT Kraken M22. I never really understood them.

A liquid cooler may or may not like the NZXT Kraken M22, you'd have to ask each cooler their thoughts on the matter.

I dont even under stand liquid coolers. So is there liquid you have to put in them or does it come in them. Then the fan cools the liquid and sends it to the CPU right?

There are 3 parts to a liquid cooler:

1. Pump

2. Tubes

3. Radiator

 

Firstly, the pump which has a coldplate on it similar to heatpipes/heatsinks you'd find on conventional air coolers transfer the heat from the CPU die to the coldplate.

Secondly, the tubes then take the hot air from the coldplate into the water tubes and transfer that through the radiator fins to dissipate the heat outside, and also cools itself off on the way back to the pump.

Thirdly, the water now comes back around back to the pump through the tubes to repeat the process over again.
