After days of researching I decided to build a new Ryzen based gaming PC.

I'd go with a case that gives you more airflow.

If you are getting X370 motherboard, might as well get 2x4GB RAM sticks to run in dual channel instead of just a single stick. And get faster RAM, price difference is not that big.

Better PSU, R5 2600 instead of R5 1600, Dual Channel Memory

I would go with a higher clocked RAM if your budget is big enough for that

It's also been proven that RAM speed doesn't matter unless you're running synthetic benchmarks.

RAM speed definitely matters for Ryzen builds and does improve FPS.

Your build's good enough, just don't forget fans and I'd highly recommend using dual channel ram.

Does this mobo support 2gen Ryzen?

If not then I would have to install new bios, but it wouldn't be possible without 1gen processor

RAM speed actually matters a lot for Ryzen CPUs because of the fabric AMD uses for their CPUs, where these Ryzen CPUs are able to utilise faster RAM thanks to the way they handle cores.

The fps differences are tiny, usually a matter of max 10fps. If you're that bothered about something as small as 10fps then you're probably either an fps *bleep* or just a really fussy person.

If he's buying right now, chances are it will support 2nd gen since all the old 1st gen only stock will be gone by now.

You've both been mislead, here I quote kggrm from Reddit:

10 FPS is nothing much when you are in 100+ FPS range.

When you are in 50-60 FPS range, those 10 extra FPS are quite noticeable.

And another thing you guys forget here, RAM can be overclocked too, so if the OP feels that his/her RAM is a bottleneck to the CPU then they can EASILY go into the BIOS and overclock the ram. Isn't that fantastic? Coming from a user with an old FX system, I bought the slowest, cheapest ram I could (generic DDR3 1333 from ebay) and when I wasn't satisfied with ram and CPU performance, I overclocked the RAM and CPU. High end ram just takes away the hassle of overclocking, if you consider it a hassle that is.

Exactly, with a 1060 this user is gonna be in the 100+ FPS range for at least 5 years, depending on the settings they use. People can disagree with me all they like on that one, but it's true provided you tone down the settings if they're overloading the GPU.

And at that FPS range you start to run into CPU limitation, hence the improvement of performance and stability from faster RAM.

But what about timings? Yeah, you can easily overclock your RAM. But if you need to set your timing to CL20 to get your RAM running at 3000 MHz, you are not gaining anything. 
Even high RAM speed has to be overclocked to reach the speeds on the box, but they are guaranteed to work at that OC, unlike cheap RAM

and in 5 years chances are the OP will have most likely upgraded and DRAM timings are easy to do anyway.
