2 words : pixel density.

less inches =  more density = better quality image
more resolution = more density = better quality image

an old 30'' 1080p will be worse than any old/new 1080p with less inches


If its for gaming on pc: my golden rule is 24' = 1080p(fullHD) ; 27' -> 1440p(2k)

more than 27 inches with full hd will be barbaric for gaming (i've played on a 38' 1080p during 1 year or so)

If its for a console 27 inches is great, if its for pc fullhd better 24 inches , I went back from 38' 1080p to 24' 1440p and omg that was peasant.
