Hey, so I'm going to be doing my first build soon but the majority of the parts will be salvaged from a build I had someone else do for me.  The specs of the new build will be...

i5 8600k (new)

CPU cooler suggestions?

MSI Z370 Gaming Plus (new)

Gigabyte GTX 1080 (old build)

GSkill 16 gb DDR4 RAM (old build)

600 Watt PSU (old build)

1 tb HDD and 250 gb ssd (old build)

a few fans (old build)

Phanteks Eclipse P400S

I'm a little concerned with disassembling my current build and was wondering if anyone has done anything similar?

Thank you

maybe practice of some freebee trash computers first. take them apart , reassemble them , learn how to install the os and software ect...

this is honestly why LTT kinda gets on my nerves sometimes. you have a guy here that doesn't even know that a computer fan only spins in one direction about to disassemble his only machine with only a handful of videos worth of knowledge to go on. and it's not your fault , the constant "anyone can do it" mentality is what really screws new people over.

I don't have access to any junk computers but I appreciate the advice and opinion; it is kind of daunting but I have been involved with other builds, just not top to bottom so the little things I'm not informed on.

Arctic Freezer 33 eSports and Cryorig H7 are both good options, I have an Arctic Freezer 33 eSports myself and it's a great cooler for the 8600K.

@luckmonsoon what happened to the original build? Out of curiosity..

You don't have to mess with the bios to change fan speeds. Most motherboards come with some sort of controller software like Asus has Ai suite that lets you control like 6 fans including aio and CPU fans.

The case you chose is very nice I just did a build in it. You have space for three 120mm fans on top and front,  or two 140mm fans each, respectively.

Everything is plug and play for the most part.. watch a you tube video for a build the are a ton of them,  even in your case.

For CPU coolers are you thinking AIO or regular? The hyper 212 evo is very popular,  works well,  and is like $30. You don't need an AIO.

I would go with an Asus mobo but that's just me.

CPU: Intel i5-9600k | MoBo: Gigabyte Aorus Elite z390 | RAM: 16gb (4 x 4gb) Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2400

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme 1080ti | Storage: 500gb Samsung 860 vNand SSD x2 & 1tb WD Caviar Blue HDD

Chassis: NZXT h700i White w/ RGB LED | Cooling: Corsair H100i Pro RGB AIO & 6x Corsair AF120 fans White LED

Screens: 2x 27" Acer HA270 Ultra Slim LED | Peripherals: MSI Interceptor RGB DS4200 Key & D200 Mouse

When it comes to fans, they're cupped in the direction the airflow will go, and sometimes they're marked with an arrow. Most cases come with fans situated to point airflow from front to back.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
