Ryzen cpu decision

Hi There guys

 

 I am currently looking at upgrading from my R3 1200. I am looking at that R7 1700 or the R5 2600x. I can decide between the 2. Any idea?

Also what ram speed would best pair with these? I'm looking at 2667 mhz and 3000 mhz

The best option is 3200mhz CL15 if you can afford it (since it's pricey), but CL16 works just fine. Just remember that Ryzen LOVES RAM.

rgb is a must in 2018

that should work, just make sure your mobo is compatible with this speed.

 

IF you don't care about RGB you could get the LPX from Corsair which should cost less.

 

For RGB, try and get the TridentZ ones, since they have better overall CAS timing (first 3 are the same), and they're Samsung B-Side. 

 

But you could use the ones you linked just fine.

I will have a look at the TridentZ once and see if i can find it.

It has more consistent CAS latency (16-18-18-38), which means it's better quality. You could get the CL14 one (14-14-14-28 EVEN BETTER), it costs more but it's more responsive.

the CL14 is a bit out of price range. I see the 2600x has a 

Max System Memory Speed of 2933MHz.

so that means i can't use 3200mhz with it?
