With the current prices on RX 580s, I am tempted to get a second one for Crossfire and to take advantage of AMD Liquid VR for my Oculus to drive some settings up.

What do you guys think? Is it even worth it to bother?

Some games I would also like to push at ultra at 75hz on my 2560x1080 display.

Thanks!

Well, your case seems spacious enough to allow both cards to keep cool, so if you know what games you've got that can take advantage of crossfire, then I say go for it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

just buy a vega, or wait for

NAVI

then navi flops so you but a 1180 ti.

What is the timeline for Navi?

I am under the impression that that isn't coming any time soon.

However, I know I am really looking to upgrade for the next Oculus headset, since my RX 580 will not be able to drive that to its potential when it hits.

Mid 2019 is the rumor for Navi.

Imo not worth it, but look at the games you want to play and that benefit the most from CF, and base your decision on that.  I think if you were trying to drive 4k on somewhat of a budget it would be worth looking at.  Ultrawide and VR I'm not so sure.

Specifically regarding the next Oculus, I'd wait and see how it fairs with CF.

Sorry that it went totally over my head. It's what I get for skimming LOL.

But for the topic at hand, is crossfire not worth the bother?

I just can't find any recent detail on it.
