I'll preface this by saying a few things: One, I am by no means a Linux expert, but I am by all means a Linux newbie. Second, this is running on my phone, on an SD card, using Linux Deploy.

So the issue is that, when trying to upgrade the kernel while installing some other programs, I get error that I'll include in the screenshot. I'm not sure how to fix it, but I think it's something to do with Linux not "knowing" that's it's running on an SD card (again, total noob, I'm probably completely wrong). Also, this may be related but it may not be, Firefox won't launch. It'll say "starting Firefox" in the taskbar (using Mate desktop) for a few seconds, then just disappear, but it stays open in "task manager". Anyone know what the issue is here, and how to fix it? I believe it's Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial). Also, if it helps (which I doubt it will), it's on a Xiaomi Mi A1. If you need a picture of the settings in Linux Deploy, I can provide it. Also, the other programs from the "ubuntu-desktop" metapackage work just fine with no issue that I can tell" (this is what I installed that made me get this error). Thanks!

How would I do that with a non-functional web browser?

Use terminal

Sorry for the late reply, didn't have access to LTT for a few days.

I actually tried that first, but even after adding the directory it couldn't find the "ukuu" package. So I just gave up and now I'm using Fedora 27 :P
