Conectivity with headphones

Please don't hate if this is a stupid question, but if a case has a microphone and a headphone conector where should I plug in a headset?

I assume that your headset terminates in only one cable, not two.

 

If so, the answer is you need a Y splitter. Most headsets that terminate in a single cable (Called a TRRS cable) usually come with one that splits it into two (one for the mic, one for the headphones).
