Password Lockout after deleting microsoft outlook

So I am troubleshooting someones laptop as a favor and they say that they became locked out after they "got rid of outlook" Any ideas on what happened?

I'm going to try to go in and removed the password using a live Linux flash drive and chntpw but if she deleted the Microsoft account is that going to help at all?

As of this point I am only going off of client information as I haven't yet had the opportunity to look at the actual machine and will be later today
