its a 290OC which means is the same as a 290x. Also for pure gaming the 290x is better than the 780ti

Ehh.. no.

It's factory over clocked. That's what the "OC" stands for. The 290x is a different card with more unlocked shaders. The 780 ti is currently the better option for pure performance. With the 780 ti over clocked, it beats any card by a mile. Even the 290x. It's quite expensive though..

EDIT: Are you trolling us?

I wouldn't recommend buying a 780 ti anyways. I would go for a 290 instead and still have the 4GB for high res gaming.

Nope it's a 290. Wouldn't recommend the stock cooler.

is it a 290x cause is the x version?

So what do you recommend for extreme gaming ( not the 780ti)?

It's not a 290x but i get the confusion.

How "extreme" are we talking about? Crysis 3 maxed out 60 fps 4K gaming?

I would opt for a 290 or 780 and the crossfire/sli in the future.

Yes, unless you don't really care for noise: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/360725/gigabyte-gv-r929d5-4gd-b-ga-battlefield-4-edition.html

This is cheaper, but the one you linked is the cheapest non-reference card currently available in The Netherlands.

800 series isn't out yet and it might be a while until it is. I wouldn't wait for it.

Personally, for about €400, I'd get the one you picked. As the cheapest 780 is €30,- more expensive and the 290 has a good cooler on it.
