Software to auto encode

Hi All,

 

Does anyone know of some good open source or free software that can work with Handbrake or similar programs to auto re-encode video files when they are created?

 

I have tired WatchFolder but that doesn't seem to work.

 

We need to to re-encode security camera footage to a smaller file size format but need it automated.

Adobe media encoder can do it, but i dont think that it is free.

You could probably create a background script or something that periodically re-encodes everything in the folder within certain thresholds. Like say every day at some time, any file with the timestamps between 24 hours ago and now gets re-encoded.

Any further suggestions would be awesome.

 

At the moment I think I am going to either use a open source watch-folder program linked to HandbrakeCLI or just schedule a direct handbrakeCLI script.
