hello

so me and my friend bought the same headset the logitech g430 it came with a usb adapter but we both plugged it in with the two 3.5 jacks

but the problem is we both plugged it in and the sound works fine but when i try using my mic it sounds shitty but if my friend uses it it sounds beautiful.

also if i plug the 3.5 jacks into my motherboard there opens a realtek audio program with some settings.

and on my friends pc it shows logitech g430 in the audio setting but on my pc it shows realtek audio

im using the msi tomahawk z370  motherboard

i hope you can help me with this because i really want to play some games with my friends without them saying that my mic sound shitty

We'll probably need to know what motherboard you're running. It sounds like your friend and you are running different motherboards with different on board sound. This could explain a difference in quality between machines.

Ok, seems like they are running the same Realtek® ALC892 Codec ports so it's not that. I would recommend downloading the Logitech Gaming Software tool online, from Logitech's website. This could help with drivers and your computer recognising it better. Let me know how you go.

Just did some research and that is the correct audio ports.

Have you tried downloading the specific Logitech G430 Drivers from the address below? It says it fixes issues with mic clarity.

Can you try any other headphones on your PC to see if it happens with every set of headphones or just the G430?

i tried my old headset but it still shows it as realtek audio and there is some weird noise on the background

So in that case, it sounds like it's an issue with your own drivers or motherboard. Have you downloaded the drivers of this site?

Did you buy yours new? Because every G430 (Blue coloured headset) comes with a USB adapter that takes both mic and audio in, I just assumed you didn't want to use it. That's what I use.

So it's improved but there's still a difference between the quality between your friends computers? How are you testing the microphone by the way?

Ok dude, sorry I couldn't help out more, audio/mic stuff can be tricky to diagnose. Glad you got it sorted though :)
