Please help me out! I have a budget- I need a build. This will be my very first build!! I have no clue where to start. I'm looking for a build the best quality gaming PC that I can put together using my budget. I want to water cool my system and have it run on Windows 10.

My budget is $1500-$1700 CAD ($1100-$1300 USD).

I currently don't need a mouse, keyboard, or monitor.

I'd really appreciate a few examples of builds that meet my budget and what specific components were used.

Thanks in advance!

if you want water cooling maybe look into the Deepcool Genome II case as it has a water cooling unit built into the case so you only have to worry about attaching it to the cpu and in my opinion they look kind of cool (i would have prefered a black case with blue (as seen in the white case) but i am growing on the black and green case)

it was stated that she wanted watercooling and windows 10. to remedy that i suggested a case above which comes with an integrated watercooler inside it, also would you agree with switching the i7 to an i5 (she didn't say it would be for difficult video making, just for gaming so an i5 should suffice), also seeing she already has a monitor i doubt it would be a top of the line 4k monitor, it will most likely be a 1080p 60hz monitor or a television that it is being used on so saving a bit of money by switching to a 1060 or a 1070 would also leave a bit of wiggle room when it comes to the case or windows 10. just a suggestion, would like your opinion on if these would be good adjustments as you were the first to suggest a build in the thread

Hi @osmally!

What is going to be the main usage of your pc? do you have an expectation or a point of reference for the general gaming experience in mind such as "My friend Greg plays GTAV at 50fps and it looks awesome", "I like DOTA" or  maybe you have a "CSGO FTW" tattoo idk lol, but seriously though, could you tell us a little bit more about the type of games that you like? what is your current monitor's model? :)

Hi all! Thank you for responding so quickly and giving me a few build ideas. I'll mostly be using my computer for AAA games and for light programs like photoshop, AutoCAD, and other similar programs. I think I'll just get a closed-loop water cooler for the CPU, the rest of the PC can be air cooled for easier assembly.

I like the build recommended by @Herman Mcpootis and I've decided to go with the i7.

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Liquid cooling isn't really needed for locked cpu. In fact one can get away with the stock cooler. Something like a Cryorig H7 offers better than stock cooling, is quieter and not that expensive.
