Just got a 240hertz monitor but my PC is having trouble locking fps at 240. I play overwatch and while in spawn areas I maintain the 240fps but in team fights I'm not able to. Sometimes I drop down to the upper 100's, and while this isn't terrible I don't have gsync and so I can definitely feel it. (Using free sync monitor with nvidia 1080 ti). Here's the strange part, however. When I turn all my options to epic my fps is not effected at all. I have a 1080 ti, 3200 16GB of ram, and i5 8600k 3.7GHz. I looked at my hardware usage and task manager says my memory usage never goes above 60% and similar with the gpu. My CPU, however, often enters into the 80% usage area. Is this causing a bottleneck thats making it impossible to maintain 240fps? Should I overclock because even at 80% usage I'm maintaining temps of 50 or so.

Overclock the i5 and the bottleneck should disappear.
