SATA Ports

Two of my SATA ports on my ASUS P9X79 motherboard have all of a sudden stopped working and i haven't a clue as to why, Any Ideas, can you just use a different SATA port on your motherboard or are the ports linked to your boot priority?

Well, there are APU-SATA connectors in a lot of motherboards which won't work if you're using up more PCIe lanes, like with an m.2 NVMe drive. If you are using one of those, you might wanna just use up other SATA 3 connectors. And if not, you either have a broken port or broken drive port.

Only using 1 GPU so im using 1 PCI-E lane have 4 to spare and then i have 6 SATA ports on my motherboard and im using 2 SSDs and a HDD

Is there any way to test if they're broken

You can use any other port on the board, provided your SATA controller as a whole isn't dead.
