so ive been very tempted to upgrade to the 8086k due to it being a limited anniversary cpu from my i7 6700k. i mainly do gaming etc so quite unsure if it would actually be worth the cost beyond the limited edition factor.

if budget is no issue and you really want that ''limited edition'' on the box sure..

i mean some people i know get higher clocks on 8700k's than the 8086k so it's still luck of the draw.

 

imo intel did a poor job on this limited edition 8086k for not having all cores at 5GHz.

wait so its not 5ghz on all cores? couldnt you synce all cores to make them all 5ghz?

you're buying a 8700k that has one core that boosts up to 5ghz. for a what? 80$+ price

yes you can sync up all core to 5GHz like on the 8700k. it's the same thing
