I found the i7 8700k on eBay for 125 bucks. So why not? Now my question is what cpu cooler should I buy? Ty

something like a cryorig h7 or 212 evo would be a good budget cooler

No. I looks him up and his Reviews are good and this isn't like eBay eBay. It is like a "small" eBay. There are like home sellers who sell stuff that they don't need. I know it's not a scam and if so I can always get my money back

I wouldn't trust it personally unless I had buyer protection thru ebay or paypal

 

most other sites like letgo, craigslist or gumtree don't offer any form of protection

Contact the seller and ask them to send you pics of the CPU (with the information on it)

These are the normal prices for the 8700k, that's why it feels like a scam.

You can get away with 212, but only if you know what you are doing (or don't mind high load temps). This chip is known to be hot. You should get 140mm tower or higher end 120mm one. Or you can set manual voltages.

 

Side note: If it isn't eBay. don't call it eBay.

When is pic taken? One could easily google stuff like that. I was super-careful when buying €140 GPU used, you should be too.

 

I don't see the listing at that site anymore. There are other CPUs starting from €250 which is more realistic price. Its still over €100 lower than retail price, but more believable.

Dont trust cheap things which are usually expensive on ebay. You can get a i5 which is still good for similar price
