MX Master issues

Hi everyone. I've had an MX Master for about 18 months now, but lately it's started cutting the connection with the unifying receiver occasionally. I use the same receiver with an MX Anywhere (not at the same time) and that works perfectly fine. The surface isn't the greatest to use a mouse on, but it seems to work fine most of the time. Does anyone know what's going on?
