PC Keeps Freezing while in game

GUYS I NEED HELP!!! Pc keeps freezing on me, it was built like 3 weeks ago and it’s been fine till now. Sometimes it lasts 30 - 40mins in a game after I start it up but then it freezes and doesn’t respond until I force restart it. But then sometime after I open windows it freezes after 10 mins of doing nothing! Please help this is getting really annoying ?

Gigabyte Windforce OC 1080
Samsung 970 evo
WD Black 1 tb hdd
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8gb ram
Asus ROG STRIX Z370-h gaming 
Be quiet 650w

 

 

 I checked windows event viewer and it didn’t pick up anything but my force restarts

Have you monitored the temperatures while gaming?

 

A friend had a similar problem, his PSU was the source. I know it's not suggested, but I would suggest (lol) trying to run a CPU+GPU torture test to check if the PSU is wrong.

how would i know if the psu is the problem and not the cpu or gpu?

if separate cpu and gpu torture tests are run and the computer runs fine than if a combo test is run (cpu and gpu) and the computer freezes it would most likely be the psu at fault
