Hello Everyone,

My organization is in the process of encrypting all of our mobile workstations and while trying to secure our t440-t460 models with TPM 1.2, we have been running into an issue. The issue is when we finish encrypting our devices with Bitlocker and setting our 6 digit passcode with air watch, the device still prompts us for the recovery key instead of the passcode when booting up or restarting. We've made sure to convert the hard drive volumes to GPT instead of MBR, and have enabled secure boot on all the machines. I have read on other forums that might be a limitation of TPM 1.2 but haven't gotten a difinitive answer on the matter. We have followed step by step procedures with other machines with TPM 2.0 and haven't ran into the issue. If you could give me any insight on this issue it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Respectfully,

Mario
