I have a pioneer AVR the VSX-1125/1325 which does 1080p output, and the audio sounds okay, but it doesn't sound perfect.

For those of you who own or have owned a pioneer unit you will probably know that it comes with a calibration mic, or MCACC (multi-channel acoustic calibration circuit)

Here is a brief demonstration of how it works:

What I am wondering is if i get an MCACC mic from another unit as long as it is pro or advanced (i know the vsx-1125/1325 has at least advanced MCACC) will i be able to just plug it in and it will be able to calibrate, or is getting the specific mic for my unit required?

I ask because I can't seem to find just the mic on craigslist, but I saw an ad for it a few months back.

I shot pioneer an email a few days about this and no response yet.
I also shot an eBay seller a message about this and he seems to think it will work. or fit at the very least for his item.
I also saw that you should have a tripod, but that shouldn't be much of an issue, or I'll just hold the damn thing up in the air.

If anyone is knowledgeable about this sort of thing let me know what you think plz.
