I am using the Microsoft Arc Mouse on a Dell XPS 13 with the latest Windows 10 update installed. As of a few days ago, my mouse will randomly stop working, and upon opening the settings it appears that bluetooth has been disabled and Windows has removed the option for me to enable it again.

I have a few different theories:

  1. Something is happening with the drivers of the mouse that is causing it to turn Bluetooth off when something happens to it. If this is true, then we would have no explanation to why Windows is not allowing me to reenable Bluetooth capability.
  2. The Bluetooth driver itself is messing up and doing something similar to what is said above, but is just randomly completely disabling itself. That would give reason as to why it does not allow for reenabling.
  3. Lastly, something internally could be happening to where Windows 10 is not even recognizing that whatever is enabling Bluetooth in the laptop exists. This is probably the most likely explanation, which is odd since the wireless card on this laptop has already been replaced once.

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this or could one of my theories be confirmed? Right now, running the bluetooth troubleshooting process seems to fix it, but even after that the problem continues to come back. I probably haven't given enough information, so feel free to ask me any questions that might get this problem solved quicker.

Thanks so much for reading this!
