Are you picking it up in person from the MSY store? If not, there's really not much reason to be buying from MSY. Their website hasn't been updated in a decade and they deserve to lose customers if they can't keep up with the other players.

It might not be the wifi adapter that is the problem. Wifi isn't the best way to connect to a network, and there are a number of factors that can cause sub-standard performance over wifi.
Things such as the type of router you have, the distance from it, how many devices are connected to the network, how many of your neighbours are on the same frequency nearby, interference from other devices, and much more can cause issues over wifi.

It could even just be issues with the NBN itself or your provider such as congestion that are causing your issues. Which NBN technology are you connected to? FTTP, FTTN, FTTC Cable, Wireless, Satellite?

Are you able to connect via ethernet at all? That will give you the best connection and if your motherboard was built in the last decade it should support gigabit ethernet.

Yes I am

At the moment I'm using Naked DSL but I'm going to change to NBN so I want to be ready. My computer is about 10m away from the router with two walls in the way.

And I can't connect via ethernet since its in the corner of the room.

BTW I really appreciate the help

You will have to look for a PCIE Wifi card for optimal results. Maximum budget?

You will have to keep in mind that with wifi it depends on both ends of the link (router and PC) and also if you have any other signals in the 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz range in between.

You will likely need a new modem/router when your NBN service is activated.
The wifi card for your PC won't need to be updated though. Wifi standards are independent on the network type.

You should be able to get a decent enough connection over wifi at 10m away. Do you have the model number of the wifi card you are using currently so we can get an idea of what you are currently using and why it may not be performing as well as it should. Is it a USB wifi adapter or is it a PCI card?
What signal are you receiving at your computer? (How many bars does the network icon show)?
If it's a PCI card and has antennas at the back, try repositioning the antennas a bit and checking if the signal improves.

In my opinion you won't get any significant benefit from buying a new PCI card. The one you have now should be good enough.
It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. If your router supports it, try switching between the bands to see if there's any improvement. 2.4GHz tends to be more reliable through walls and at distance, so if you're using 5GHz currently then try swapping to 2.4GHz.
(Refer to your wifi router web interface or manual for how to swap between the two)

What exact issues are you having? Disconnects? High latency? Slow download/upload speeds?
