GTX 970 Overheating

Go to solution Solved by Lemtea,

Thermal Paste.

Clean of the old paste using isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth and reapply using a good paste e.g arctic silver, mx4, nt-h1.

Should fix the problem unless the gpu heatsink is clogged full of dust or the gpu fan is not spinning.

i cant tell you how much it will drop by but it should drop temps by a decent chunk.

You may as well do it if you have already opened up the card.

It's just the fact that i am investigating what is wrong with it I will do that but i have to wait for the paste to arrive to test it. I hope this is it and i don't have to buy another card. I will mark it as sold when i test it.
