So, Im looking to upgrade my laptops current 256 GB m.2 SSD to this but the problem is that my laptop only has one m.2 slot. How would I go about cloning my current SSD to the new one? I dont have a desktop either. Am I just going to have to go with a fresh install of windows? Btw this is the laptop I have. As far as my understanding goes, there isnt currently a way to convert NVMe to USB and use an external enclosure, right?

It doesnt matter who wins and who loses, because in the end, the king and the pawn go into the same box.

There are indeed NVMe SSD to USB enclosures (and adapters) available. I guess this would be your best bet when you want to clone your current NVMe drive.

Could you link one to me? I havent been able to successfully find one... Ive found SATA M.2 compatible ones but none that will work with NVMe drives...

What exactly do you need NVME for? Are you going to be doing anything that actually utilizes the speedS?

Well the thing is that my current drive is an NVMe drive and I dont want to downgrade. Plus I should be able to use the drive well into the future without having to worry about my SSD becoming too slow as the years go by. When it becomes time to retire my laptop, Ill be able to take the SSD to the new system.
