I have an asus rog gu501gm. yesterday my microphone was not working at all. But after running through mic setup it worked perfect. today another problem. When recording my voice, if i speak normally, i can hear myself very quietly on playback, I have to speak very loud for it to register loudly. It is like there is a cutoff, where if i speak over a certain volume, it plays back loud, but if i speak under that level, i can barely hear myself. All my mic levels are at max. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. What could be the issue?

@Matt14I don't think its a bad mic. Because yesterday it was crystal clear. And than, due to seperate issues with my headphones, i decided to uninstall and reinstall realtek audio drivers that i found from the offical Asus website. And now my mic is not working... Maybe there are other drivers i can try?

Edit: Right after this i switched from realtek HD audio to the generic windows drivers. And the mic works perfect. But now im wondering if these drivers will affect my audio quality.
