Laptop for programming

I’m going to university and need a laptop for programming and stuff. Can you guys give me some advice? I was thinking about thinkpads, they are said to be the best for this kind of porpuse.

The things that I need:

- A decent cpu

- 8Gb of ram

- Good battery life

- Good keyboard

- If possible a 256Gb ssd or a 128Gb ssd and hdd

- Price not more than 900$

I’m from Hungary and for display size I have no preference. I had a laptop with a 15” screen and that was pretty good for me.

It sounds pretty good but I can’t find anything abou the battery and for me the keyboard looks pretty small. But if you do not care about these so much, it could be a pretty good option.

Battery wise, may be around 4 h of working, not such a great deal, but enough for one day at college for me. I've made a topic about it here.

Thank you man for your reply!

For me the Thinkpad E580 looks the best. I’m thinking about one with an 8th gen i5  and a 256Gb ssd. It has pretty good battery too.

Just be aware that Thinkpad E series is actually not much different than Lenovo consumer lineup. Also load will reduce battery life

I know that load will reduce batter life but I do not think that programming would be that big of a load. And what do you mean by not much different than consumer lineup? Do you think that an ideapad 720s would be a better choice?
