Internet doesn't work

Go to solution Solved by Megabikerjoe,

Okay reinstalled windows. Everything seems to be working now

Hi,

I'm writing this on a tablet so pls bear with me.

2 Days ago the Internet in my PC stopped working. It's directly connected to an Airport extreme via lan. I'm using the onboard LAN ports of my Gigabyte z77-ud5h. The Intel one didn't work in the first place so I always used the atheros one. The Intel one works just fine in mac osx.

I already reinstalled the drivers but it still doesn't work.

Help would be much appreciated, thx

Well I think I just found your problem!

Just playing around, now back on topic.

Can you try plugging your PC into a router or even your modem? This will eliminate the possibility of either the Airport, atheros, or Intel NIC's being a problem.

I'd also like to see a parts list of your system? Are you dualbooting Windows and OSX?

I'm living in an apple-household, nothing I can change about that :D

Plugging it in directly would be the last Option because I'd have to move my whole PC around. But to take that away, all the other Macs are working fine even in Windows.

Yes I am dualbooting, I think a made a build log with my specs in it

Have you tried updating to the latest bios? Sometimes that can fix some problems. Like i had audio issues on my gigabyte board and was fixed strait away.
Its worth a shot right?

already had the most recent one. But already being in the bios I also removed my overclock and that solved the problem.

Now can anyone explain me what an overclock has to do with my lan port?

As I said, certain things work, but others don't. Skype and Steam Chat work, but Chrome and IE don't. Anyone else got ideas I could try?

DNS issue sounds plausible, can you try visit http://131.203.3.177/ for me? (Google)

Sounds like whatever you're using for DNS isn't working.

so what can I do about that?

Try using Google's dns servers. Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Go to the network and sharing centre, from there, change adapter settings on the left. Right click the adapter you are using and go to properties, then from there select IPv4 and go to properties. Then check the radio button that says "use the following dns server address" and enter the above IPs to the fields.
