Hey lads,

I was playing Conan Exiles a few nights ago, took a break and came back to boot up the game again and received a error. "DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine"  so upon seeing this i thought it must be a new update needing a new driver. updated to nvidias latest driver and it sent my pc into restart loops. when i investigated further i seen that my card was giving a code 43 error in device manager. so i rolled back the drivers while in safe mode and stopped the restart loops. its now a generic driver meant for onboard graphics.

my problem is that with the old driver the card is apparently working fine. the fans turn, it lights up, it supplies video feed through HDMI. but thats it. it isnt recognised by MSI afterburner and it wont even launch games.

if i update the driver it goes back to restart loops.

heres what ive tried.

a full reinstall of windows from scratch. going through 4 or 5 different older drivers(all cause restart loops). a full clean of my physical pc including unplugging and re plugging everything basically a full re-build.

ive put the card into my friends pc and had the same issue(but we both agreed we didnt try "everything" while it was in there) and a few little things like static discharge and "turning it off/on"

im starting to think its actually a hardware fault but i just really dont want it to be as it was bought second hand but its still way less than a year old.

my rig:

i7 4770k intel cpu

GTX 1080TI gpu

AX860 Corsair psu

16GB kingston hyperX ram

Maximus VI Hero mobo (with newest bios)

Samsung Evo 840 SSD running Windows 10.

any help is appreciated

thanks.
