Oops the Chromium stuff was running in the background, retried it and it worked.

Oh yeah. I see it in the taskbar, lol.

Well great! Glad it worked out.

While my grandfather was trying to find another download of DVD Shrink that would work with Windows 10 and got into some hairy malware. A Windows 10 update bricked Microsoft Excel on his new HP laptop, which he got after another Windows 10 update bricked his previous laptop, and when that got fixed DVD Shrink broke via the executable was missing. He tried reinstalling directly from the official website but got nowhere, so he tried somewhere else. I recognized immediately the added search bar at the top of the screen as malware, and directed him to install Malwarebytes to get rid of the mess. It worked perfectly, except now with an obviously fake Chrome broswer has embedded itself into the registry, aka nothing can be done through the control panel. When you try to delete the folder in the HP preloaded software group, it gives him a "This action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program," even though IT IS NOT OPEN. Fake Chrome browser is the blue tinted thing in the bottom left.

Chromium is actually what google chrome is based off of. But many crapware installers package chrome with garbage toolbars and try to make money off installing it on your machine.

Does the chromium folder have an uninstaller EXE?

Chromium is a real browser, comes standard on Raspberry Pi's.

If you can't get it to leave, then you're probably looking at a reinstall of Windows.

No, just the setup.exe, nacl64.exe, and chrome.exe; noticed a ton of PAK files
