Vesa compatability

Wondering if the vesa mount on this tv stand can fit to a 300 x 300 vesa mount on my lg tv. I'm just a bit confused because the website says 600 x 400 and after trying to find out I keep hearing it referred to being used as a rectangular vesa mount rather than square.
