Closed back is really needed only for isolation of environment's noise.

For sound accuracy it's actually huge challenge/drag.

(so of course most gaming stuff is closed...)

So you apparently aren't needing microphone?

Do you want harder hitting bass or maximum details and neutral bass?

If needing that noise isolation I would myself likely get Beyerdynamic DT770.

Though in gaming likely would want to use some equalizer for toning down bass to get better details...

(for console use 250 ohm variant likely needs too much volts and 80 ohm version would be correct choise)

For no noise isolation need DT990 is good balance between above neutral bass/"fun factor" and details/"competitiveness".

Normal 250 ohm variant might again want little too much signal voltage for console use and 32 ohm variant would more certainly give enough dBs for hearing damage.

For neutral bass Audio-Technica ATH-AD700/900 are very cheap in US.

Though those are more toward "Bass? Isn't that a sea fish?" sound with no lower bass.

And those are super sensitive, so any EMI/background noise of PC's integrated sound card (or any source) would "show up" easily.
