Headphone/Headset Recommendations

Hi,

I have been looking at headphones and headsets because my HyperX Cloud 1 are dying. I would like some recommendations for some new headphones/headset.  They will be used for 1/2 gaming and 1/2 listening to music. I do not need it to have a microphone because I am planning on buying one in the future.  I have been looking at the Logitech G933, new HyperX headsets, and the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO. Are those headphones/headsets good?

Thank You

If you are buying headphones you should pretty much always disregard things made by gaming peripheral companies. I really like my ath m40x with hm5 angled pads (about $100-$120 all together). Though pretty much anything from sennheiser is good as well

Do you want above neutral bass for "fun factor" or best details for distinguishing say foot steps etc?

Amount of bass is always balancing against details.

Though open headphones like DT990 can give good bass without it starting to instantly bury details seriously, like tends to happen in closed headphones.

I would prefer mostly best details because I am not that much of a bass head.  I like bass, but just not a lot of it.

Thank you guys for giving me your recommendations. I very much appreciate it.

So unless needing external noise isolation of closed design open headphones are better starting point.

And also have less ear sweating risk than closed.

Open design HD500-serie Sennheisers are mostly quite bass neutral, so you would likely prefer DT990's bass.

And while not at top level it's very capable to more competitive gaming when fed proper signal.
