I recently build one on that case, with parts I had around not being used. its using a delided 8700k and a 1060 3gb, the CPU is using a Noctua low profile cooler and rarely goes above 50c, the gpu though im having lots of trouble with it, i added 2 static pressure fans below the GPU and they need to be set to 100% if i want to stop the GPU from overheating.

i dont use it for anything super demanding mostly VR, but cooling the gpu in the node 202 so far seems kinda hard.

planning to build M ITX build need recommendation

CPU : i5 8500 or 8400

Mobo : ASUS STRIX H370-I-Gaming (https://www.asus.com/sg/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-H370-I-GAMING/overview/

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz (https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE®-LPX-16GB-(2-x-8GB)-DDR4-DRAM-2400MHz-C16-Memory-Kit---Black/p/CMK16GX4M2Z2400C16 )

PSU : CORSAIR SF450 (450W) (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Power/Plug-Type/sf-series-psu-config/p/CP-9020104-NA

Storage: 850 Evo m.2, any cheap hdd

Graphic card: havent decide most likely 1060

Case: Node 202

still early planning, need thoughts of the build and few general questions

is it worth it to spend more/less on better or worse chipset motherboard?

considering the case support full size graphic card, should i be worried?

how do i know if PSU is compatible with the motherboard?

this will be my first build, open to all alternatives and recommendation. Thanks in advance

You can also go with the Silverstone rvz02. It is the same size as the node but has better graphics cooling (due to the seperate cpu and gpu chambers)

The only reason i considered it was after reading how people were complaining of overheating gpus and many reviews took note of it, so after watching a review on hardware canucks about the rvz02 and the node 202, I was kinda sold on the silverstone alternative.

I still feel kinda freaked out by a fanless case but my cpu temp is 63 C at max load (i5 8500) and GPU (GTX 980) is at 80 C max load but only at 60-65% fan speed.

ALSO if you don't want to go ITX just yet, I also built a Raijintek Thetis ATX case (it is the same size as the Fractal Design Nano S ITX). It is probably the smallest ATX case you can build and is a fricken pain. My only advice is install the PSU last. Run the cables in to hook up the motherboard but push the PSU in last (or else your build will be hell on earth)
