upgrading 3 year old build

I'd like to upgrade my three yo pc.

I primarily use it for gaming and realized it was time to upgrade when I could barely run the latest COD. It's also struggling to run civ at full settings.

My ideal budget is roughly 300 dollars, but if spending more is necessary to future-proof then I'll take that into consideration.

I'd try and look for a used i7 4770K or i7 4790K on Ebay.

I would buy a used gtx 1060 3gb and 4790, and maybe a used ssd if you stretch ur budget to 350

The CPUs above, or the 5775C. 

Alternatively, there's Coffee or Ryzen, but that'll require a new CPU, RAM and motherboard. Something like a 1600 ($160), B350 Prime Plus ($80) and 8GB 3000MHz DDR4 (~$100)
