1600 vs 1700?

There's some nice sales on Ryzen 1 gear and I was looking at picking one up. The 1700 is on sale for 3500 ZAR ($276) and a 1600 is at its normal price of 2400 ZAR ($190).

I very occasionally do some CAD work and going with the higher core counts than my current locked i5 will mean I keep it for a long while. I would be passing on the i5 to my brother so it's not going to waste. Which one would you pick? Ryzen 2 is much more expensive and Coffee Lake costs the same if not more so I'd like to avoid those

edit: I'm playing at 1440p144hz

That's an F in the profile pic

for the price difference would probably go 1600, the 1700 is nice but having used both with Autocad there is not really a noticeable difference in anything outside of rendering.
