Video size question

1 pixel = 3 bytes. Since it's talking about raw video (no compression), the formula is correct.

So on wikipedia the page says:

 

"An HDTV camera generates a raw video stream of 149,299,200 (=24*1920*1080*3) bytes per second for 24fps video. "

So I understand the 1920x1080 is the resolution, and the 24 is the fps, but what is the 3 and the end? does that change with the format?

 

another question is if that is actually correct or not

Typically, 1 byte for each color - R, G, B = 24 bit color
