Custom loop with too high CPU temp

I just finished my loop today with a 360 radiator, Barrow CPU block, Bitspower GPU block, and Swiftech Maelstrom D5 Reservoir Pump Combo - 300mm, using only distilled water.

As I measure, the water temp in the reservoir is around 27 C or so. The CPU temp ideal at 35 - 40 C and 65 - 70 C under load 100% using OCCT. The GPU temp ideal at 28-32 C and 38 - 40 C under full load using Heaven Benchmark 4.0.

Is it normal? Because I see that the CPU temp is higher in comparison with the AIO cooling I used before.

My rig is:

I7-7700K OC 5.0 1.3V

Asus strix 1080ti OC mode

61 degree C at 27% load????

Is it normal with a custom loop?

Please help! Or any concentrated liquid should I put in my loop?

Looking at what you posted 60C is fine under load. Try running Aida64 or something of that sort for 15mins+

No, it's not. It's around 60-65 while i'm gaming under 40% load

Temps seem reasonable to me then. The toothpaste under there can only transfer so much heat for a given time and 1.3v is nothing to scoff at. I've hit the same wall with my 7900x that sits at about 60C when gaming. I plan on sending it off to Silicon Lottery soon so they can work their magic.

Everything is fine, your cpu wouldn't even start thermal throttling until around 100C.

Going off the screen shot, there’s an issue. Cpu shouldn’t be that hot during a gpu stress test. And if you weren’t stressing the cpu. Could be a few things but that for sure isn’t right.

1. You got another heat source in the loop

2. the CPU waterblock might not be the best performing one

3. how much better was the AiO?

A 360mm rad for that setup is already borderline not enough. You have very hot components on less than 240mm each.... so that is probably part of your problem.

 

The next problem is you probably just lost the lottery on your 7700k and it doesn't have a good transfer of heat from the die to IHS. I also don't know what your bios looks like, but there is a high likely hood it is probably being overvalued quite a bit (very frequent issue)
