Good evening everyone I have a galaxy A5 and it has an update should I do it?

Yes. It improves the security of your device and may add new features. This is explained on the updated screen.

My phone works fine now and I am afraid I will damage it if I try to update.

For the most part yes although some devices might feel slower with the oreo update.

 

Moat people don't think about the security issues that google patches every month with the monthly patchea.

A big company like Samsung couldn't get away with breaking the OS in an update. They have beta testers to ensure this doesn't happen.

Just update it, it may include a patch/bandaid for all those recent security issues.

If you think a normal update is dangerous, can I advise you to stay well away from the custom rom scene? You really can damage your device with roms if you don't know what you're doing.

I have a galaxy note tab for years I have never updated it and it works fine
