Difference Between CPU design and CPU architecture?

Hello! I'm a high school student but I'm looking into doing dual enrollment and college courses eventually. I don't know what courses would help me get the type of job I'm trying to get. What I want to do is make CPUs, but I want to do the actual computer part. Like the coding part, not the machinery part. What job is that? And what courses could I take to help me get a better understanding of that? Thanks! :)

For that sort of job you'll need to study computer science at college.

You want to design CPUs? Or just code for them?

 

If the first, physics. If the latter, some math/IT/coding stuff.

That would sort of fall into Firmware Engineer. You'll need at least a degree in Computing Science or Computer Engineering.
