Weird bug,can't log in.

WiTe

Im really unsure if this is the right place, but i really need some help

So,a bizzare bug happened a bit ago, still having trouble fixing it.

My friend can't log into her pc.

It accepts the password,it goes to black screen for a bit, then boots her back to the login screen again.

Restarting doesn't work.

Can someone please help,im not really sure why is it happening.

(Happened after the newest update on windows 10)

Does it keep looping?

I had an issue for a while with the new stupid update that it asked for 2 or 3 times for the password, and then it let me in. So how many times had you tried logging in  in a row?

13 times,still nothing

However 10th attempt took a bit longer then usual, and the theme has changed from purple to blue.

It says 'just a moment..' every time

She managed to log Into safe mode
Chkdsk had no results Rollback was ineffective, Windows couldn't for some reason Regedit and modifying profileimagepath/ref and state to 0 didn't do a thing

Go to windows settings while in safe mode, then to the update and recovery, and click "Return to a previous version of windows". That should fix it.

As previously stated

Rollback/Returning to previous version of windows did not work.

your picture doesn't work. Also if you disable the password asking (so you don't need password to log in) can you log in?

I know,by mistake i have uploaded a wrong one. (Will upload correct one with this post)
Also, how do you change it so there's no password required for log in
She needs to give up her password for some features, but that works.
And im talking about safe mode when it comes to accessing features she needs the password for.

Safe mode doesn't have that setting.

well you are SOL then. Maybe you have to backup all her data and then reinstall an older version of win 10...

Hmmm....

Ok, basic troubleshooting time:

Have you checked the hard drive for errors?

Normally, (and I'm going from memory here, as I don't use Win10) there are restore points set up be default. Is there the same in Win10? Could you try rolling back to an earlier one before the last one (which seems possibly to be corrupted)

Have you checked for viruses, spyware, malware, other things causing this? (long shot, but you never know)

If you have network access in safe mode (win7 had this option) could you check for updates to Win10?

Try this:

Mentioned few times previously in the thread.

Rolling back is not possible.
There isn't any malware.
Safe mode isn't helping either.

Was the restore point not enabled, is WIn10 not showing *any* restore points? I know you couldn't go back to the latest RP, but what about earlier ones?

No.
No restore points were made even though she had the feature on for each month.

Ok, so RPs are out.

What about the other options I mentioned? How thoroughly have you checked the hard drive health, and with what software?

She tried using Chkdsk but it didn't help as stated earlier.
She can't really check using any software in Safe mode.

And she'll use Windows reinstall method with a new iso,not reset
Will update if there are any more issues.

Did you try the link I posted above?

And in safe mode you can easily use portable applications, so running software isn't out of the question. Find the hard drive manufacturer and run their hard drive checking tools.

We did check out the link posted above, however it looks kind of sketchy, she doesn't really trust it.
The link itself doesn't provide the progrem, just a bunch of advertisements.

So in other words, you didn't read it at all....no unusual software required. You need a Win10 dvd or boot image, and the general ability to follow directions...
