My mics stopped working on windows 10

So today I tried to talk with some friends from discord but I couldn't talk to them, although I could hear them. Yesterday was working fine
Things I noticed:

  1. Under sound settings > Recording , my headset microphone's bar doesn't appear green when I talk
  2. If I enable "Listen to this device" option, I can hear myself just fine. But not on any other app I tried
  3. Under my headset properties, under the levels tab, I can't ajust the level and it is at 0dB
  4. Control Panel\Ease of Access\Speech Recognition\Set up microphone gives me a "The wizard could not start" error

Things I tried:

  1. unplug and replug microphone
  2. unplug and replug headset
  3. unintall and reinstall drivers (both realtek ones and my headset's)
  4. restart pc multiple times
  5. tried different mics but again didn't work on other apps (only with "Listen to this device" option)
  6. checked on all other apps's options that the appropriate device for input audio is selected

Any ideas on what I should check next?

P.S. I think this is the first time I tried to use a mic after the windows 10 update 1803. So maybe something went wrong with the update?
