did you try reinstalling (or check integrity if on Steam)?

Have you modded?  I've never has issues like that with TW3.

Oh yea it's modded.  Might have got a small spattering of hours in till I had to change the UI and HUD.

I'm fairly sure I figured it out though.  It looks like those problems happened to me because I lowered tessellation to 4x/2x instead of 64x.

Game was playing fine till I got to skellige (hindersfiall in-particular, and freyas garden there was by far the most horrid performance experience to date), at which point perf went down the toilet and I hit settings hard trying to muster through

Clearly tessellation doesn't at all mean what I thought.  I colloquially thought that tess was for 3 dimensional definition, rounder curves, more robust map layers, etc.  But no, no, no...  It's apparently the foundation upon which worlds are built(fucking hell).

Anyways, problem was not mods or corruption, or windows.  Problem was....a combination of CDP-R/GameWonks and Radeon/myself.

Anyone familiar with how this game works?  Having problems with it.  New to TW3 and haven't remotely got a foundation for understanding its engine formed.

How does this happen?

Doesn't seem like the textures themselves don't appear to be bad, meshes(and or shape the texture is instructed to take) are clearly either warped or botched.  Are these controlled by scripts that might get re-written by REDEngine3 on the fly?

Verified the files in GOG dozens of times to no avail.  About to download the game image/ISO and see if a reinstall will sort it.  Wanted to avoid wasting the BW(Me innernets sux >.<)

GPU Drivers didn't do anything for me.  DDU, rollback, update.  ZIP.

haha glad you got it figured out.  It's a great game.  On my second play through now, just about to make the pilgrimage across the Pontar to Novigrad.
