hello

I have been looking to upgrade my cheap gaming PC to a entry level to mid range  workstation and wondered what I should get, I have chosen a cpu but just want to get a cheap GPU for cad just to give my 1050ti does anyone know of a work station gpu that I could get for cad for under $200 any idea's? I have done some searching and found cheap radeon pro WX1300's or a quadro 4000's and a tesla K10 or C2075 are these too overkill but I want to be able to keep it and use it for many years and to work with bigger and bigger projects as I progress. if you guys know of any other gpu's that will last a long time and are cheap please tell me. thanks I use aussie dollars

Really comes down to what type of CAD program you are using and if it can use CUDA acceleration and such. Probably your best bang for the buck would be to find a used 980ti, but that will be a little over the 200$ range, likely in the 250$ range if I had to guess.

Which software? Without knowing exactly what you'll be using, you can't pick a card as compatibility and optimization differes greatly. For Solidworks for instance, a Quadro or Firepro/Radeon Pro is a must, but this isn't the case forsome other CAD applications.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro
