o/ everyone

I have been in the process of planning a new build for the past month or so

So far these are the items I have picked

Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.7 GHz

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB

SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 2280 250GB  (< OS WIN10 )

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW HYBRID

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2

Eventually I wish to upgrade that further with 1-2TB of NVME in Raid0 with the help of...

ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 x Interface Card

Intel SSD 600p Series (256GB)

I already have a case and CPU cooler sitting here with me, just waiting on the rest of the components.

NZXT S340 Elite Matte Black

CORSAIR Hydro Series H105

Does anyone foresee any issues or complications that I don't?

I know the ASUS Hyper M.2 card is kind of experimental tech and there isn't a whole lot of information about it yet.

I've heard about some problems that people have had trying to use them, i.e they only work with ASUS mobo and Intel SSD's.

I couldn't speak for the interface card, but the rest of it looks to be alright.

I'm sure someone could expand on this, but the Maximus X Hero has two NVMe slots.  Could you not just use that instead of the interface card, or are you looking to RAID more than 2 drives?

If you plan on Overclocking, did you check to see if your memory is Samsung B-die?  You can copy the part number and Google search it, and it will tell you.  It costs more and doesn't give you a huge performance increase, but it could be something to consider if that is what you're into.

You can also consider going to the Corsair H110i to get a 280mm radiator over and 240mm, albeit thicker, radiator.  The S340 can fit a 280mm in the front panel.  I have mine setup this way.

These are just suggestions of course.  Your build otherwise looks very good, and you should be happy with it.  One final suggestion would be to use http://pcpartpicker.com, to not only find your best price, but it will also tell you of any incompatibilities.

My plan is to use one NVME slot for the OS and the interface card for recording, maybe I'll install games on there as well.

My current (albeit old) setup has issues with keeping up with recording and rendering. So instead of using a "normal" m.s or SATA SSD I wanted to grab something I know would be able to keep up. I'm hoping to have 4 M.2 Cards on the interface card. It'll probably only be 1TB given how expensive NVME is.

Unfortunately I've already got the radiator and it has been installed; I think it will still be more than enough to keep it cool though... I'm not sure about overclocking, I'm not really "hardcore" like that. I may clock it to a solid 4.5Ghz but that's probably it.

I see where you are going with the NVMe setup then.  That makes sense, but again, I have no experience with that interface car, so hopefully someone can chime in and help.

If you already have the h105, that is perfectly fine, in fact better than the average user.  You should be able to get decent overclocks using it.

Back to the RAM.  If you are doing recording/rendering on the machine, you should look up your specific use case, and see if RAM plays an important factor in performance, either in speed, latency or both.  Better RAM in most cases gives marginal gains, but certain workloads can benefit.  Prices are steep right now, so it's understandable not wanting to go crazy with this right now.
