Would Using A RGB splitter with a controller be damaging.

I need an extra 30cm of rgb lights, but the controller I use only has two cables.  To add more, could I use a RGB led splitter for one of the connections and get three outputs? Would this damage the controller? Will they stay the same brightness?

It will increase the amperage required to power all the LED's for that controller it's capable of 6Amps so an extra two 30cm strips will not be an issue at all.
