I'm using an R9 390 8Gb ( xfx custom card ) and every once in a while I have to reinstall the drivers ( like 10 times before it works ) because my computer restarts randomly when launching a game.. when any 3D image is rendered by the card it restarts. I deduced that it was drivers in the first place because I switched cards and it didn't restart my PC. Then I put my card back in, uninstalled all drivers from the pc, launched a game and it ran fine with my card.  ( then proceeded to fight with the Radeon Drivers )

So that's how I know its the drivers. 18.4.1 Radeon I believe. I could double check, but whatever. If anyone has ran into this problem before and could give me some advice etc on how to fix this huge inconvenience that would be great. I work most of the day, every day. I don't get a lot of time to game so I'd like the 3 hours of gaming at the end of the week instead of 3 hours of fixing bs. thanks!

p.s the only reason I'm asking for help on a forum is to actually fix the issue so please don't make fun of me if its insanely simple to fix lol

ran sfc/scannow and got this " Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios. "

If your computer has been rebooting randomly then it isn't surprising that sfc found some jacked up files. If you have Windows 10 you can try creating a recovery drive to try to repair your files.

As for the driver issue, did you get a chance to try what Valkyrie Lenneth said?

There's no place like ~

-update, I've fixed the driver issue, now however my GPU has started to run itself up to 84c. Usually stays down in the 70's and rarely up in the 80's. It's an R9 390 with plenty of GDDr5 VRAM ( over 8 gigabytes ), the game where I noticed the Temps was Cod Black ops 2.... which is about the easiest game ever to run. I was getting almost 300 fps on max graphics and got a red screen. Which could be heat shut down, not enough power... etc. I'm pretty upset because I've spent 1250 or more on this new computer and I feel like I'm getting shafted by random Problems that no one can seem to help me with. Like for instance, I've fixed all my issues and I'm gaming and it hasn't crashed in over an hour.. get bored of call of duty 2 ( because it sucks ) and want to install a new game... My main drive is read-only and wont let me change it.. for some stupid reason. Then I do the CMD PRMT and check DISK part and it says that its not read only and that it's writeable.

Morale of the story i'm throwing this computer in the trash in about 15 minutes.

Edit: Not to mention the fact that I've had to reformat it like 6 times and it took about 20 tries on the initial install of windows for my NvME ssd to take it........ :S
