Would this be the equivalent to 2gigs of vram?

it is still regular DDR 4 RAM so it is not nearly as fast as having real GDDR vram.

in my own tests with a ryzen 2400G on 8gb dual channel 2666 RAM - it either made not much difference or even hurt performance.

i ran tests with the setting on "auto" and with 2gb reserved

rise of the tomb raider didn't see much change

metro last light actually was worse in the .1% department

and doom went straight to single digit framerates for whatever reason (5-7 fps in menu and even worse in game)

Hello again,

I would like to know if I can assign my system ram to my APU so it can run games better.

there is a setting in bios where you can select how much system memory to reserve for the integrated GPU.

if you don't have more than 8 gb ram installed in your system i recommend to use this setting carefully.

if you assign 2gb out of those 8gb to graphics then the rest of your operating system and  games only have 6gb to work with - in some games this can hurt performance a lot more than reserving less memory for the gpu
